Instant Pot Duo Recipes

Instant Pot Duo

The Instant Pot Duo pressure cooker, is a great addition to any kitchen. It is so easy to use and has a lot of different cook options, which is why it is also called the Instant Pot Duo 7-in-1, because of the 7 different cooking functions available. The Duo is a 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Cooker,Pressure Cooker, Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Saute/Browning, Yoghurt Maker, Steamer and Warmer.

That’s all well and good, but if you don’t know what you can make in this pressure cooker, then you won’t be using it to it’s full potential.

So I thought I’d give you some ideas for recipes and would suggest some recipe books, specifically for the Instant Pot, but which could also be used for other pressure cookers.

Instant Pot Recipes for Chicken

This Instant Pot Cookbook by Maria Hopkins is specifically for Chicken based recipes.

You have quite a few chicken recipes in this book, from basic cooked chicken to stew, chicken with rice recipes, curries and soups. Plenty of Chicken Instant Pot recipes to try for variety. With chicken being readily available and when you can cook it directly from frozen with a pressure cooker, it’s worth having some ideas to make the most of it.

This book is available on Kindle as well as in paperback.

I thought it might help, if you’re like me and prefer to have a visual instruction  for how to cook a chicken in the Instant Pot. The benefits of being able to cook a whole chicken is that it will probably give you enough chicken for a couple of days worth of meals, so it’s tasty and time saving.

I love one pot meals, and some vegetarian chilis fit that bill perfectly, if you have dried beans , spices and tomatoes you can make a flavourful meal for your family. To show you an easy recipe, here is a video for a simple vegetarian bean chili.

Quick & Easy Recipes for Everyday Eating by Sara Quessenberry

This quick and easy recipe book is an authorised Instant Pot Cookbook

There is a wide variety of recipes in this book, breakfasts, appetizers, sides, beef and lamb, pork and chicken main meals, and desserts. Lots of Instant Pot dinner recipes to keep your family happy.

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of different things that you can cook in an Instant Pot, and I love cake, so I thought I would show you a video with a chocolate cake recipe so you can see how it’s done.

How often do we buy pieces of equipment because they sound great, the advert tells us it can do so much, then we get it home and we cook one thing in it and forget how much it can really do.

The problem is that if you aren’t very creative in the kitchen it’s hard to imagine what you can do and the enormity of it just stops you trying. I wish I knew just how to throw ingredients in a pot and get a magic stew out of the other end, but I don’t find it as easy as that.

I’ve found that the best way for me to learn different recipes is to have someone show me first, show me which buttons to press, what ingredients to use and then show me what to expect of the finished product.

Once you see how easy it is to make easy recipes, you’re more likely to do it yourself and if they taste as good as they look, you’ll have your family asking you to make them again and again. So be a little adventurous today and try one of these recipes.
