In this review we are going to be going through all the features of the Pressure King Pro and hopefully you will be able to determine how good the product is, we think it’s worthy of our #2 spot in our Top 10 Best Electric Pressure Cookers 2017.
Pressure King Pro 12 in 1 Slow Cooker, 5 L, 900 W Review
The Pressure King Pro is priced in the medium range and comes in 3 colours, so this will appeal to people who don’t like to spend too much on their kitchen gadgets but want as much versatility as the more expensive products and like a colour range so they can match with other equipment they have. This also has different size pots depending if you want a large pressure cooker or a small.
This pressure king pro cooker is a 12 in 1 so what does that mean:
Well these are options programmed on the control panel, so it is programmed for you to cook meat at the touch of a button, there is a rice cooking function, you have the option to cook stew or soup. You can steam your veg or anything else you would like to steam and there is also a Fish button to cook your fish in the best time. You can cook porridge in this pressure cooker and it also offers a 24hr delay timer so easy to set at night for porridge ready in the morning when you wake up. There is fast reheat and keep warm function. This is a pretty good set of options and can certainly compete with the Instant Pot Duo.
There is 1 extra function on this pressure cooker, and that is the canning function. There is a guide on the user manual but to begin, you must select a recipe that has been pre-tested and approved for pressure canning. It will hold 4 x 500ml canning jars. Properly processed they will last for months.
The digital control panel is large and easy to use. All the functions are marked up on the buttons and really quick to select.
So what about the safety?
- The pressure release valve will automatically exhaust and limit the pressure.
- If the pressure release valve fails the lid will release the pressure. In this case the pressure release valve is faulty and needs to be replaced.
- The cooker features a safety temperature cut out if the temperature rises too much, it will cut off and only start heating again when the temperature has returned to the normal temperature.
- If this function fails the pressure cooker will cut off, it will not re-start and needs to be replaced.
- The lid cannot be opened if the pressure inside is high.
As in most pressure cookers you can’t open until the pressure is released, and there are safety cut offs if for any reason it overheats. Nice to know as people may want to use overnight or when they are at work.
I use it for everything and it does exactly what it says.
Excellent and value for money!
Cooked a joint of pork in 40 min. It was delicious
Inner pot appears defective as it is supposed to be non-stick and I have cooked four times following exact instructions and all stuck to the pot even when using Stew function to brown meat Definitely not worth the money.
Really disappointed. The connection was very loose. Replacement was the same.
All in all, a good cooker, but with poor customer service and low quality steamer tray.
Although there are less reviews for this product about 40% are less than 5 star, so definitely more customers are dissatisfied. There seems to be some issue with the power cord connection, although not on all. There were definitely complaints about the steam tray and inner tray not being fit for purpose.
There are many satisfied customers of the 12 in 1, but there are some issues and the accessories don’t seem to be good quality. It does have a lot of functions so your cooking options are definitely covered and it is easy to use. It is reasonably priced, so a good choice if money is an issue.
