This 8 in 1 cooker is a smart looking stainless steel outer casing with black plastic handles. For the families out there it has a 6 litre capacity which can make a good amount of stew or a one pot meal which can feed everyone. It cooks with 1000w power and has no problem cooking your food under pressure in a quicker time frame.
The inner pot provided in this pressure cooker is a 6 litre size with a non-stick coating, which means it should be easy to clean. It’s easy removable so you can use it to serve if you wish and it has measure stamped onto the inside so it’s easy to get the right amount of liquid in for rice or as a guideline when you’re making your own recipes.
Like all electric pressure cookers the VonShef 8-in-1 Pressure Cooker has built in safety measures. It has an integrated pressure safety valve in the lid which you can easily move to pressure or release and it also has a twist lock lid which will not open unless the pressure is fully released and so it makes it much safer to use and to handle.
The VonShef has a large easy to read touch button control on the front of the unit. The led numbers are easy to see and will show the time left to cook after it has reached the pressure level. The cooking options on the front have some pre-set times already but you can choose a different time by using the pressure hold button which can be set at 1 minute increments.
- Fish & vegetables: 5 minutes
- Rice: 10 minutes
- Poultry: 15 minutes
- Preserving: 20 minutes
- Soup: 25 minutes
- Beans: 30 minutes
Although on electric pressure cookers you get a lot of press button options, they tend to be just different cooking times based on the average time required for the food that you are cooking, so if you need to cook something for 30 minutes, you can just select the beans option to get your 30 minutes on the clock.
The VonShef 8-in-1 comes with the 6 litre inner pot, a measuring cup and a plastic rice spoon. What is noticeably lacking is a steam rack of some kind so you may find if you want to cook a joint of meat or chicken in there you might want to invest in one, steam racks available on Amazon.co.uk, they do stop your meat from sitting directly on the base of the pot and you can also cook vegetables on it out of the liquid required. If you’re not likely to cook either of those things then your pot can handle the rest.
If you’re looking to make one pot meals for the family or meals that you can freeze then this VonShef 8-in-1 Pressure Cooker is the perfect pressure cooker for that. It’s so easy to add all your ingredients into the pot and press a button and 30 minutes later you can have a delicious cooked meal. If you’re looking for pressure cooker recipes there are many books available, Pinterest offers lots of tried and tested recipes and or course you can’t beat youtube for visual instruction.
There is only 1 customer opinion at the moment which is 5 star, so a good start for the VonShef 8-in-1 pressure cooker.
This VonShef 8-in-1 pressure cooker reminds me of the Tower T16005 pressure cooker which can offer cooking options but doesn’t include the slow cooking function of some pressure multi cookers. If you are looking for a good pressure cooker at a low price then this VonShef 8-in-1 pressure cooker offers basic cooking functions, a good 6 litre size and easy to use control panel.
